Jubilee Celebration

YWAM has begun it's celebration of 50 years of ministry. 50 years of working to fulfill the Great Commission.

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." Mark 16:15

What a celebration this has started out to be!

After months of planning and a crazy amount of construction taking place, the Kona campus is now packed with around 2,500 visitors, staff, and students.

Sitting front and center at this opening event (reserved seating is a happy benefit of being married to the sound man) I was overtaken with emotions. Gratitude that the Lord has brought me to this place. That He picked me up and turned my life around. I never could have dreamed of being involved in something so spectacular.

I felt inspired and thankful to our founding couple for their simple obedience to the Lord. They listened and obeyed. Because of their faithfulness, more lives have been impacted than we can ever know.

As we worshiped with song and some seriously joyful dancing, I could not help but be amazed at God. I realize not everyone's simple obedience leads to waves of young people working in missions. But what I can't help but wonder is, what if we all simply listened and obeyed? Imagine the impact we could make on this world? In our city. Even in our own families.

Watching Kumu oversee the sound for this event, and release our first full length album in the same day, I am unbelievably proud. I am proud of him for his obedience to the Lord.

It would have been a whole lot easier to have simply worked in main stream music. Made his way up the ladder at a studio and eventually brought home a handsome living. It would have been easier, but it would not have been God's best.

We can hardly believe we get to live this amazing dream. An international project underway, a dear friend's album released, and helping (and hopefully recording!) with the largest celebration in YWAM's history all at the same time. This does not even take into account the project he is currently recording which will be sold in Target, and taking on our first staff member...

God is good!
If you can catch any of the live feed from uofnkona.edu, it is well worth it.

Promise to post pics ASAP
